Shiplog
Release notes, written from the pull requests.
An automation concept for product teams: AI reads the merged pull requests in a release, groups them into features, improvements and fixes, and writes customer notes and a technical version in English, French and Arabic for the product manager to edit and publish.

Customer notes in plain English, editable line by line and linked to their pull requests
1 / 8The challenge
A release ships with 40 merged pull requests, and nobody wants to explain them to customers. The notes get written late, in developer language and in only one language, or not at all, so customers miss the features built for them.
The approach
Shiplog reads the pull requests and tickets in a release, sorts them into new features, improvements and fixes, and keeps internal work out of the customer notes. It writes friendly notes in English, French and Arabic, each written for its readers rather than translated word for word, plus a technical version with migrations and breaking changes. The product manager edits any line, then publishes to the changelog, a customer email and an in-app announcement in one step.
Designed around
- Reads merged pull requests and linked tickets
- Groups changes into new, improved and fixed
- Internal changes kept out of customer notes
- Customer notes in English, French and Arabic
- A technical version for the team
- Every line linked to its pull requests
- Publishing to the changelog, email and in-app announcement
