Grade F for a clinic: its passwords file is public, and the report shows the proof with the secrets hidden
1 / 8The challenge
Most small businesses have no idea whether their website is exposed: an expired certificate, an outdated WordPress, or a file holding their passwords that anyone can download. Security reports written for engineers don’t help them decide what to do.
The approach
Site Checkup runs about 40 passive checks, a few requests at a time: the HTTPS certificate and security headers, WordPress and JavaScript libraries with known vulnerabilities, domain expiry, SPF, DKIM and DMARC, real-visitor speed, search basics, whether AI search tools can read the site, and privacy and trust signals. The report leads with a grade and a summary in business terms; each problem says why it matters and how to fix it, with the evidence one click away. Deeper checks, such as exposed files and open ports, start only after the owner proves the domain is theirs with a DNS record, and reports are never stored on the server.
